The Lab

Within the Chaperon action, the Laboratory of Translational Cancer Genomics was established at the Biomedical Center and is led by the ERA Chair holder Kari Hemminki, employing a newly established team of excellent researchers (see Lab members). The precise research focus is on of the following topics:

  • patient-oriented cancer genomics
  • genomic factors in tumorigenesis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition
  • hereditary cancer genomics and epidemiology
  • application of advanced genomics methods in clinical screening and decision-making
  • targeted treatment based on mutations in tumors following the precision medicine guidelines
