The Picture of the Month July was taken by doc. Ing. Jan Nevoral, Ph.D. from Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine. This picture shows an early embryo (5 days) releasing itself from its cover called zona pellucida (grey). Embryo consists of hundreds of cells (nuclei in blue, actin B in green) and its viability heavily depends on the expression of histone deacetylase Sirtuin 1 (in red) mainly situated in the nucleus.

Embryo ve stáří 5 dnů, „vylíhlé“ z obalu zvaného zona pellucida (šedá barva). Embryo má asi sto buněk (modře jádra, zeleně cytoskeletální protein B-aktin). Životaschopnost embrya závisí na dostatečné expresi histonové deacetylázy Sirtuin 1 (červeně), lokalizované především v jádře.
