Prof. Khaled Ismail is offering a synchronous online course „Protocol, Reviewing, Ownership and Publishing in Experimental Research“ (PROPER) for Ph.D. students of Medical faculty in Pilsen. It has been designed to to help academic trainees understand the basic principles of study design, critical appraisal, research governance and medical writing in experimental research.
Learning outcomes: At the end of this course, candidates will
- Understand the different types of study design
- Learn the principles of protocol writing
- Become aware of authorship rules and research governance
- Recognise critical appraisal criteria by study design
- Develop medical writing and editing skills
- Learn best practices for journal selection, submission and revisions
The course will be delivered over a total of 8 hours (4 modules, 2 hours each):
- Module 1: Study design and protocol writing
- Module 2: Critical appraisal of different study designs
- Module 3: Research governance and responsibilities
- Module 4: Medical writing and editing
